About us

Situated in the building and room housed the first primary class in Eyemouth, Seashells ELCC is a modern child centered ELCC offering funded places, non funded places and daycare including lunch club.

Operating with two rooms we have the Seals room (ELC 3 AND 4) which is designed for children to explore, be creative with staff  supporting the inquisitive and questioning mind. The Pups rooms (ELC2 ) is a calm, soft space for children to explore senses. We also have an outside space as we promote the importance of outdoor play allowing children to access freely the outdoors.

Annual inspections by the Care Inspectorate and ongoing self evaluation ensures that Seashells ELCC maintain a very good standard of childcare as detailed in our recent report.

By working with Early Years Scotland and Scottish Borders Council's Early Years Team your child will be provided with well rounded, safe, happy and secure nurturing learning environment.

                                        Our Vision, Value and Aims

Vision – To provide Love, Integrity and Aspiration

Values-

Love- At Seashells we foster genuine love for children in our care. Love is not just something we all say but more so what we do. From a warm welcome on arrival to a hug when needed most to spending time listening to children’s interests and curiosities. We see Seashells as a loving community where individuals matter.

Integrity – We do what we say we will do.

As a charity nursery. We are not a business in it for profit.

We are committed to being honest with each other- our parents and families, our staff and our team around us.

Aspiration - We firmly believe in aspiring to do better with excellence in everything we do. We are constantly evolving and looking to improve and continue to do so. We value parent contribution, opinions and are always open to listen.

Aims – To provide high quality experiences where children are at the heart of everything we do.

To create an inspiring nursery environment, both in nursery and the natural beauty surrounding us for children to thrive and learn.

To build secure and trusting relationships with children and their families.

To celebrate diversity, appreciate and respect each child is unique.

To be safe, healthy, achieving, nurtured, active, respected, responsible and included citizens.

To continuously strive to improve into the best that we can be
